Efforts And Results
In the street or in my bath
All that is required of me
Is open my lips and say:
Namu Amida Butsu!
This gives me humility
And helps me to stay sober.
It’s nothing to do with Zen.
It’s easy as cracking eggs.
Poems are more difficult.
The choice of words is greater.
The public is critical.
The rewards are never such.
