The Seventh Shin Conference Europe will be held on September 2, 3, 4 and 5, 1992 in Düsseldorf, Germany, in the House of Japanese Culture (Haus der Japanischen Kultur), Brüggener Weg 6, D-4000 Düsseldorf 11.
It is sponsored jointly by Bukkyo Dendo Kyokai (Tokyo), represented by the Buddhist Promoting Foundation Europe e.V./Numata Center (Düsseldorf), Hompa Hongwanji (Kyoto), the International Association of Buddhist Culture (Kyoto) and the European Shin Buddhist communities.
The Conference will be presided by the Patron of the European Shin Buddhist communities, His Eminence Kosho Ohtani, Zenmonshu of Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha, Kyoto, accompanied by Lady Yoshiko Ohtani.
This 1992 Conference will once again be a meeting of American, European and Japanese scholars and representatives. But the general public interested in Buddhism, especially Shin Buddhism, is also invited to attend.
The theme of the conference is:
European Shin Buddhism or Shin Buddhism in Europe?
Lectures
Everybody is invited to present a paper, but priority will be given to topics directly concerning contemporary European issues. Conference languages are English and German. Each paper should not exceed 30 minutes. Those who wish to present a paper, should let us know its title and, if possible, an abstract not later than June 1. The text to be handed to Conference participants must be sent in not later than August 1, 1992.

Registration
The registration fee is DM 60,- (US$ 35.-; ¥ 4,800.-). Included are coffee, tea, refreshments, sandwiches at lunch-time (Sept. 3 & 4), and copies of papers.
For those who wish to participate in the farewell lunch on Sept. 5, at 13.00, the fee is DM 90,- (US$ 55.-; ¥ 7,500,-).

Hotel Reservations
Due to internal reasons, it is impossible for the organizers to deal with hotel reservations. So please ask your local travel agencies to book your hotels.
The Buddhist Promoting Foundation e.V. will handle only reservations for Hotel Ramada (2-persons room from DM 248 to 568/night) and the youth hostel Jugendgästehaus (from DM 26,20/night + breakfast).
